The following classes are upcoming in 2008:
- Fire Pump Testing - Learn the skills necessary to perform a fire pump acceptance test and annual performance test required by Title 19. Class will be hands-on with the Local 483 diesel and electric fire pumps. Tuesday, January 8th - 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM OR Tuesday, January 15th - 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
- UA STAR Certification Exam - As a UA sprinkler fitter you can take the UA STAR Certification exam and earn STAR Certification, plus 30 college credits toward an associate's degree in fire sprinkler fitting or construction supervision. The UA STAR Program was developed jointly by the UA and Ferris State University. It's a 200 question, open book exam given over a 4 hour period. Thursday, January 31st - 5:00PM - 9:00PM
- OSHA 30 Hour Safety Training - The 30 hour OSHA class is intended to provide a variety of training to sprinkler fitters with safety responsibility. The large general contractors are requiring at least one member of each trade to hold an OSHA 30 hour card. Due to the length of the class it will be held over 6 nights. Upon completion of the course a 30 hour card is issued. The card does not have an expiration date. As soon as 15 members sign-up, the class schedule will be published.
